A. Duie Pyle is developing an integrated logistics campus in Suffolk, Virginia, where a 52-door LTL cross-dock and 200,000-square-foot warehouse will be.
The site seeks to provide final-mile services there, such as warehousing and distribution, transloading, LTL, contract dedicated services, drayage and truckload management brokerage services, according to a January news release.
“Our expansion in the Suffolk–Norfolk market reflects a strategic response to the rapidly evolving demands of today’s supply chain,” Chief Commercial Officer Frank Granieri said in the release.
A business entity tied to the West Chester, Pennsylvania-based carrier paid $24 million for a nearly 43-acre site in December, according to county and state records.
It’s located at Port 460 Logistics Center, an industrial development spawned by real estate firms, near a highway interchange for U.S. routes 460 and 58. The site is 21 and 22 miles away from key Port of Virginia terminals.
Real estate firms Rockefeller Group and Matan broke ground on Port 460 in September 2024, and Pyle will develop Building 5 as part of the project’s Phase 1 master plan, the release said.
A. Duie Pyle expects the facility to be ready by Q2 2027. The carrier plans to add 50 jobs within the first year of operation.
