- Averitt is adding 379 dock doors, 1,953 truck parking spaces and approximately 895,530 square feet of warehouse space as part of a multiyear network investment plan that began in 2025, according to a news release.
- This year, new facilities or expansions will take place in Jackson, Mississippi; Columbia, South Carolina; and Oklahoma City and Tulsa, Oklahoma. In February, the carrier opened a newly constructed facility in Ocala, Florida.
- “Our facility investments reflect a disciplined, long-term approach to serving our customers,” Barry Blakely, president and chief operating officer at Averitt, said in the release.

Averitt is expanding its footprint as part of a capital improvement push through 2027.
The Cookeville, Tennessee-based carrier is making the upgrades as part of its Power of One approach. That refers to the cumulative synergy of its five service units (LTL, TL, dedicated, distribution & fulfillment and integrated & global solutions).
Other carriers are also expanding their operations and moving forward on future projects. Alongside that, the Institute for Supply Management’s purchasing managers’ index in manufacturing reached expansion territory in January according to the survey, the first time in a year.
