DSV aims to divest its USA Truck business, Group CFO Michael Ebbe said on an earnings call Thursday, signaling potentially yet another shift in ownership for the Arkansas-based carrier.
“USA Truck is the only asset we are discontinuing,” spokesperson Jonatan Rying Larsen told Trucking Dive in an email.
The company didn’t provide information on the timing of the divestment or how it would proceed with USA Truck’s operations and assets. As of March, USA Truck had over 2,250 power units, according to a federal database.
The Denmark-based transportation conglomerate posted a net loss of DKK 90 million ($14 million USD) for the quarter in its Schenker U.S. road operations, according to an interim financial report.
DSV acquired DB Schenker in April 2025, which acquired USA Truck in 2022.
Despite the divestment plans becoming more definitive, DSV maintained that selling part of the newly acquired U.S. operations was originally considered in its M&A deal this year, according to DSV’s latest financial report.
In July, DSV also said it was conducting a strategic review of USA Truck given the business’ weak performance.
“Schenker has an operation in the U.S. that is delivering significant losses as we go along right now,” Group CEO Jens Lund said on a July 31 earnings call. “Actually, ever since it's been acquired, it's been delivering, what can I say, a financial outcome that was a deficit, so it's something that we are now establishing a plan and dealing with.”
A yearslong freight market recession has disrupted carriers across the industry. Low rates and volumes, coupled with rising costs like insurance, are causing many carriers to file for bankruptcy, merge or otherwise exit their individual operations.
