Marshall Witt will become the SVP and CFO of FedEx Freight as of Oct. 15, the parcel giant announced Monday.
He’ll serve a key role as FedEx Freight seeks to spin off into a standalone LTL company next year.
“Marshall’s extensive expertise in guiding companies through critical periods of transition to deliver profitable growth will unlock enterprise-wide value for FedEx Freight, its team members, customers, and stockholders,” John Smith, who will serve as CEO of FedEx Freight once the spinoff is completed, said in a news release.
Witt previously worked for FedEx for 15 years, primarily in FedEx Freight finance responsibilities that included SVP of finance and controller, the company noted.
He began his current role as CFO of the information technology services and consulting firm TD SYNNEX in 2013. He also served for five years with KPMG as an audit manager for banking and transportation clients, a securities filing previously noted.
“He brings strong capital allocation, M&A, and spin-off experience, having overseen TD SYNNEX’s spin-off of Concentrix in 2020,” FedEx said in its release.
The company has been making changes to ready its operations to be a stand-alone company before the spin-off date. Earlier this year, FedEx pieced together top leaders for its executive team in preparation of a June 2026 target date for its spinoff.
Ramp-up of its operations and long-term growth plans extend well beyond a split when the company will have to rely on its own operations, financial experts note.
