Family-owned carrier Bulmaks is undergoing a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition, according to a Jan. 5 filing.
The business, which was incorporated in 2012, has over $6.7 million in liabilities and $2 million in assets, per the filing.
The West Chicago-based carrier reported having 170 power units and 182 drivers as of late May, according to a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration database.
The carrier provides TL and LTL services in the contiguous U.S., relying on company drivers and owner-operators, its website notes.
The business took a revenue hit in 2025, dropping nearly 19% to $19 million, according to figures in the filing. Multiple court cases cases against the company have been pending, alleging breach of contract.
At least 50 creditors are estimated to be affected. Among them include:
