Truck drivers can encounter restroom-access problems while waiting at shipping and receiving facilities, sitting in traffic, parking overnight or traveling through areas where safe facilities are unavailable. Although the product does not replace proper restroom access, Sasha’s Road Relief is intended to provide drivers with an emergency option when one is not immediately available.
Founder Sasha Rauth developed the product after working for a technology-focused third-party logistics provider, where she coordinated freight movements between shippers, receivers and customers.
“One issue kept coming up in conversations with drivers: they did not always have reliable access to a bathroom,” Rauth said. “Drivers could be stuck in traffic, waiting for hours at a facility or parked overnight without a restroom nearby. I wanted to create something practical that could help minimize the impact of those situations.”
According to Rauth, the challenge goes beyond personal convenience. Time spent searching for a restroom can add stress to an already demanding workday and may contribute to delays when drivers are working within tight pickup and delivery schedules.
“In trucking, a relatively short delay can affect an appointment or create additional pressure for the driver,” Rauth said. “Restroom access should not become an operational problem, but drivers often have to find a way to manage it.”
Sasha’s Road Relief is a portable, single-use urine bag created specifically with truck drivers in mind. The product contains an absorbent pad, an odor-control component and a resealable closure designed to help contain liquid after use. Its narrow design is intended to fit conveniently inside a truck cab and be stored until needed during an emergency.
Rauth said the product is not presented as a solution to the broader restroom-access problem facing the trucking industry. Instead, it is intended to give drivers an additional preparedness tool while industry groups, regulators and facilities continue working to improve access.
“Drivers deserve clean, safe and dependable restroom facilities,” Rauth said. “Until that access is consistently available, we want drivers to have an emergency backup that helps them stay prepared and maintain their dignity.”
Rauth’s connection to trucking also comes through her grandmother, who previously operated a garbage and trucking business.
“She built a successful company in an industry where there were relatively few women business owners at the time,” Rauth said. “Her confidence and work ethic showed me the value of recognizing an overlooked problem and creating a practical response.”
Sasha’s Road Relief is available to individual drivers, owner-operators and fleets. Additional product and company information is available at www.truckerroadrelief.com.
