Dive Insight:
DD Freight Express’ bankruptcy petition comes as the carrier was entwined in a legal dispute with PNC Bank.
The bank filed a complaint in April, claiming the carrier failed to make a Sept. 4 payment for two 2023 Volvo VNL trucks and defaulted, thereby owing the financial institution over $209,627 plus fees and other costs.
DD Freight Express rejected those allegations in its legal response.
Previously, the carrier also dealt with a lawsuit involving U.S. Bank, which alleged a breach of contract and other claims in 2024. The carrier also denied those allegations, and the sides settled in 2025 on a financial plan totaling $132,202.71 in which DD Freight Express would make monthly payments.
Other carriers reporting Chapter 7 bankruptcies have recently included AshFoxx Transport of New Jersey, Victory Freight Corp. of California, and Triple RRR Carriers of Texas.
