Regional truck dealer Ohio Peterbilt launched a new e-commerce functionality that allows trucking customers to search for and purchase truck parts online, according to an Aug. 20 press release.
The new site offers convenience for busy trucking customers by giving them the option to browse, order and choose between free in-store pickup or direct-to-door delivery. E-commerce orders are available for customers not just in Ohio but also in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The website has more than 10,000 unique part numbers, such as clamp exhausts, brake clutches and gaskets, along with 200,000 parts in inventory. Customers can access items across all 10 Ohio Peterbilt locations.
“This platform reflects our commitment to innovation and customer service,” James Marshall, parts director at Ohio Peterbilt, said in the release. “Whether you’re picking up in-store or having parts delivered, we want every customer to experience the full value Ohio Peterbilt has to offer.”
The company also said it has redesigned the site to reflect the needs of today’s trucking professionals.
“Trucking professionals are becoming more strategic in how they source parts,” Willis Cuevas, director of marketing at Ohio Peterbilt, told Trucking Dive in an email. “Many are price shopping and actively looking for alternatives to OEM parts that still meet their performance needs.”
The news comes as many trucking firms are holding on to their equipment for longer, which could result in a greater need for parts. “Fleets are extending truck lifespans and incurring higher maintenance costs,” FTR Senior Analyst of Commercial Vehicles Dan Moyer said in FTR’s monthly report.
