Old Dominion Freight Line named former Waste Connections CEO Worthing Jackman as an independant director, the LTL carrier announced last week.
The financial and solid waste management executive’s new role was effective as of Sept. 22, a securities filing said.
He’s joining the governance and nomination committee as well as the talent and compensation committee of the board.
“The Board benefits from Mr. Jackman’s extensive senior management experience, including as chief executive officer and chief financial officer of a public company, and his service on other public company boards,” the company’s board of directors website notes.
Jackman spent two decades at Waste Connections, including time as CFO and VP of finance and investor relations. Before that, he spent over a decade in investment banking, starting with Alex. Brown & Sons before its acquisition by Deutsche Bank.
His other board memberships include WillScot Holdings since 2024 and Quanta Services since 2005. He became WillScot’s executive chairman in September 2025.
Old Dominion’s board simultaneously announced that director John Kasarda was retiring from the board immediately, adding this change was not due to any disagreement with the company or any other matter related to its operations, policies or practices. Kasarda, who serves as the president and CEO of Aerotropolis Business Concepts, joined the board in 2008.
The board’s director average tenure has been eight years as September, the carrier’s website notes.
