PS Logistics subsidiary Loudon County Trucking has acquired substantially all the assets of a Tennessee-based trucking business, related logistics entity and more, according to a Thursday news release.
The deal brings on flatbed and oversize load carrier Roane Transportation Services, Roane Logistics and B&W Leasing.
Roane co-founder Steve Kennedy will remain with Roane, now a division of Loudon County Trucking, the release said. The business will operate as Roane Transportation.
Roane has over 170 company, lease-purchase and owner-operator drivers, and it reported 189 power units as of mid-May.
The company’s business operations are located in Tennessee and Texas, primarily hauling aluminum, steel, electrical products and building materials in the Southeast and Midwest, the announcement noted.
Roane, headquartered in Rockwood, Tennessee, and less than an hour from Knoxville, has operated for three decades, and the company’s additional freight mix complements PS Logistics’, the announcement said.
“The acquisition of Roane Transportation strengthens PS Logistics’ presence in East Tennessee, expanding our footprint in a region that is critical to the aluminum manufacturing sector and enhancing our ability to support both existing and new customers,” Houston Vaughn, president of PS Logistics’ trucking division, said in the release.
PS Logistics has added dozens of companies to its network over the past decade. A string of additions in 2024 included Louisiana-based Fluker Transportation, Illinois-based Yordy Transport and Alabama-based Buddy Moore Trucking.
Last month, PS Logistics subsidiary TA Services, a non-asset division, also acquired Texas-based trucking and logistics businesses Carmen Pacheco Transportation and Interload Forwarding.
