Dive Insight:
Growth through acquisitions has been KTG’s strategy since it was formed through a partnership between Kriska Holdings Limited and Mullen Group in 2014. Between 2014 and 2023, KTG purchased entities including Transpro Freight Systems, JMF Transportation, and Liberty Linehaul and Libertyline Linehaul West.
Prior to its acquisition of Sharp Transportation Systems, which is headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, KTG had 310 owner-operator and company powered units and a fleet of 960 trailers, which includes dry van, reefer and intermodal chassis, according to its website.
KTG’s acquisition adds Sharp’s expertise in moving furniture and providing pharmaceutical transportation solutions through Canada and the U.S., per the LinkedIn post.
Additionally, Sharp’s terminal network and resources will improve KTG’s cross-border coverage as it looks to grow in the U.S. Midwest and Northeast, the company said.
