Dive Insight:
Ryder’s new Huntsville facility strengthens its presence across the Southeast as it looks to support customers in fast-growing manufacturing and logistics hubs.
The expansion follows recent openings in metro Atlanta and Lebanon, Tennessee. The Atlanta-area truck rental and maintenance facility is the largest at 20,000 square feet with five drive-through bays. The Lebanon site spans 7,000 square feet and also has five bays, though they are not drive-through.
The Huntsville location has additional amenities aimed at driver convenience and operational efficiency, such as a driver’s lounge and 160 parking spaces with trailer capacity, RyderGyde technology and a self-service check-in kiosk.
“Huntsville’s strong infrastructure and accelerating activity across automotive, aerospace, and government operations make it a natural fit for expanding our service footprint,” said Tom Havens, president of Fleet Management Solutions at Ryder, in the release. “Tech-enabled solutions at this site ensure customers have the speed, visibility, and reliability they expect.”
Across North America, Ryder has more than 800 maintenance facilities supporting a rental fleet of roughly 240,000 vehicles. About 70% of that fleet was utilized in 2025, CFO Cristina Gallo-Aquino said during the J.P. Morgan Industrials Conference.
“We still have room to grow with our existing fleet,” she said, noting that Ryder’s target fleet utilization is usually 75% to 79%.
