The Rowdy Family of Companies appointed Jason Ickert president, according to a March 23 press release.

In the newly created role, Ickert will oversee strategy, operations and growth for all of the Texas-based company’s businesses, including Rowdy Transport, Rowdy FR8, Rowdy Logistics and Rowdy Resources. He will work alongside founder and CEO Craig Gandy, per the release.
Gandy said Ickert is a proven leader whose background in operations and strategic vision will help the company expand its capabilities.
“His deep experience in scaling logistics organizations, integrating teams and technology, driving P&L performance, and delivering exceptional customer outcomes aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering mission critical solutions,” Gandy said.
Ickert brings more than three decades of experience to the role. His previous jobs include serving as COO for JT Logistics in Des Moines, Iowa, and as president of Sonwil Logistics in Buffalo, New York, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Ickert has a track record of scaling high-growth companies, enhancing customer experience, and solving complex supply chain challenges, per the release. His focus will be to help scale the company’s target segments, including frac sand last-mile delivery, aggregates, steel processing, over-dimensional freight and complex project cargo.
Rowdy's focus on frac sand last-mile delivery aligns with a boom in demand for silica sand along with hydraulic fracturing crude oil and natural gas production in the Permian Basin in West Texas. The region accounted for 44% of total U.S. oil produced and 19% of the country’s marketed natural gas in December 2025, according to the Energy Information Administration. The agency expects output from the region to rise as oil prices increase.
Rowdy Transport had 85 power units and employed 80 drivers, according to a July 2025 Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration company snapshot.
Ickert said he seeks to strengthen the company’s specialized expertise.
"Rowdy has built an exceptional reputation for reliability, grit, and customer obsession in some of the toughest logistics environments,” he said.
